Yes. We specialise in cast iron half-round, ogee and ornamental moulded rainwater goods for Grade I and Grade II listed buildings, rectories, manor houses and historic agricultural buildings, and liaise directly with conservation officers where required.

Our studio is in Highworth, Wiltshire. We work throughout the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Berkshire, and travel further afield across the South of England for the right commission.

Zinc guttering and rainwater goods

Zinc gives a quiet, matt grey line that suits contemporary architecture and modern extensions without shouting. It weathers to an even, self-protecting surface and asks for nothing once it is up.

We install natural and pre-weathered zinc gutters, downpipes and hoppers, frequently alongside zinc or standing-seam roofing.

Natural and pre-weathered zinc

Natural zinc arrives bright and dulls to grey over the first couple of years. Pre-weathered zinc is supplied already in that settled grey, which matters when only part of an elevation is being renewed and a visual match is needed from day one.

Either way, the patina that forms is what protects the metal, so there is no painting cycle and no annual maintenance beyond keeping the gutter clear.

Where zinc is the right choice

Contemporary houses, modern extensions, barn conversions and garden buildings where the detailing is deliberately restrained. It also works well on rural buildings where a bright metal would look wrong against stone and timber.

Zinc dislikes standing water and direct contact with copper runoff, so falls, outlets and material combinations need to be planned rather than improvised on site.

Fabrication and fixing

Zinc moves with temperature, so expansion joints and bracket spacing have to be set out correctly or the runs will distort. We measure the elevations, agree the profile and fix to allow that movement, which is the difference between a zinc gutter that stays straight and one that ripples.
