Berkshire's larger houses often have complex roofscapes: parapet and box gutters, valley outlets, ornamental hoppers and long downpipe runs. Getting the sizing and outlet positions right matters more here than on a simple two-pitch roof.

We survey the whole roof drainage route, not just the eaves line, and specify cast iron, copper, zinc or aluminium according to the elevation, the exposure and how the building will be maintained.

Where repair is the better option we will say so at survey. Sympathetic repair usually costs less and keeps original fabric in place.

Listed buildings and conservation areas

Much of rural Berkshire falls within conservation areas or the North Wessex Downs. Rainwater goods on listed buildings are normally controlled, and plastic replacements are rarely accepted.
